Lasse Kallioniemi (1977)
Lasse Kallioniemi started creating art with visual arts. At secondary school age music took most of his free time, and the visual arts gradually gave way to guitar and playing drums. Steve Vai´s music inspired Lasse to practise numerous hours per day, and as a result, skills as a musician developed to advanced. In high school he made his first guitar instrumental works. Bartok and Stravinsky were the first contacts with contemporary classical music, and they are still the biggest influence and source of inspiration. Finnish composers as Einar Englund, Joonas Kokkonen and Einojuhani Rautavaara are also strong influences. Lasse has studied composition with Sakari Vainikka, Paavo Korpijaakko, Jouni Kaipainen, Hannu Pohjannoro, Jyrki Linjama and Jonne Valtonen. Lasse's music is often very tonal. Also atonal, modal and free tonal music have been part of the expression. Links: MusicFinland Soundcloud Myspace |
